Body found in Hudson River could be Garden City shooter

GARDEN CITY, New York (WABC) -- Several agencies are responding to the report that a body was found on Iona Island in Stony Point, Rockland County, early Monday.
Iona Island is part of Bear Mountain State Parkway, which is patrolled by New York State Park Police. They are investigating if the body is that of 63-year-old Sang Ho Kim, the man believed responsible for the deadly workplace shooting in Garden City last week.
New York State Police released the following statement:
"The New York State Police in Monroe assisted the New York State Park Police with the recovery of a body found floating in the Hudson River near Iona Island and the Bear Mountain Bridge at approximately 9:30 a.m. today. The body appears to have been in the water for several days and at this time members of the Troop F Forensic Investigation Unit are working with the Rockland County Medical Examiners Office and the Nassau County Police in an effort to provide a positive identification of the remains. The body does appear to be that of a middle age Asian male. A further press release will be issued once the remains have been positively identified."
