I lived there for four years while I went to the university. I only recently moved to Des Moines, but I already miss the city (and Old City Hall)

Broadway at Bleeker, 6 months, a sublet of a loft, my first place.

Sullivan St. north of Bleeker, 1 year, free rent ground floor with garden, worked as super for one of that year's Village Voice 10 Worst Landlords.

East Houston at B, several years!

Spent 6 months in a highrise on Roosevelt Island, then returned to East Houston.

Spend 6 months or so in Washington Heights around 187th and Cabrini.

East Side neighborhood (roughly 72nd St. to 96th St. and 3rd, 2nd and 1st Avenues) that was mostly working class German, Irish and both Catholic and Protestant parishes side by side. Famous folks from there include the Marx Brothers, James Cagney and Tony Curtis.

We moved to Queens in the 1960s and I've lived there (Rosedale, Kew Gardens and Briarwood) ever since.
