Greg Kelly...WTF?

Hey, Big Apple DU'ers...got a question...

I watch "The Soup" most weeks and they usually have a clip of Greg Kelly making a total ass of himself on "Good Day, New York". He comes off as boorish, aggressive, and totally contemptuous of his female co-host.

Also, there as a really heavy accusation made against him(which I won't repeat here for possible legal reasons)after which, for some reason, he was reinstated on the show.

Why do they keep this guy in the job? Does he actually have a fan base(other than people who'd watch him for the unintentional comedy)? Does the station that employ him use him to bring in the "potentially violent douchebag" demographic?

Just wondering if you folks can explain the unexplainable to me on this.

I'm guessing he'll eventually inspire one of those "torn from the headlines" episodes on LAW & ORDER: SVU.
