Cuomo - Christie war begins over GWB closing

"A person familiar with the matter" proceeded to tell the Wall Street Journal that Christie had called Cuomo to complain about Foye's handling of the controversy, even though Christie had been publicly downplaying the controversy, choosing instead to make jokes about traffic cones.

Christie responded in a press conference today, saying the story about the call with Cuomo was "wrong."

Either way, said someone who deals regularly with the Port Authority, Cuomo is out to ensure the Christie bears the full brunt of the fallout from the scandal.

"He just stuck a fucking spear in the eye of Chris Christie," said the source. "Chris Christie said this thing is a joke, it's not for real, but he called Andrew Cuomo about it? It means that Chris Christie was worried. Very embarrassing for Chris Christie."

As much as I dislike Christie, this has all the hallmarks of a Cuomo set-up. Cuomo is a vindictive asshole with absolutely no moral compass. I hope they destroy each other.

That Christie would call Cuomo and ask Cuomo to back off the investigation? None of this makes sense.

Christie's buddy, who has now resigned, ordered the lane closings. His alleged reasons have not panned out.

How is it significant if he called Cuomo? He didn't answer reporters with his usual bluster, either. It strains credibility to think that Christie didn't know about this.
