Eyewitness News
NEW YORK (WABC) -- Fire officials are on the scene of a fire in a hi-rise on Sutter Avenue in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.
Emergency 911 dispatchers were called just after 4:20 for a fire on the 12th floor of the 20 floor building.
Newscopter 7 was over the scene and flames could be seen coming out of the building.
FDNY says this is a fire proof building, so people do not need to evacuate. They should stay where they are. People can call 911 if they're concerned or have any doubts.

A building is on fire ... and the fire department tells people doubt worry, stay where you are, the building is fire proof?
Excuse me, MR. Fireman; but I'm leaving until you put out the fire that is burning the fire proof building.

stairwell trying to escape. I assume this maybe why they said this.
