Staten Island homes evacuated after gas explosion

STATEN ISLAND (WABC) -- At least 18 homes in the Todt Hill section of Staten Island are being evacuated after a gas explosion in the basement of 101 Delaware Street.

There were two people injured in the home. Both are in stable condition.

Crews are in the process of searching for the source of the gas leak. Until they find it, at least 18 homes in the area are being evacuated.

A staging areas have been set up at the intersection of Dalemere Road and Norden Street. MTA buses are being sent to Dutchess Avenue between Delaware and Norden Streets for evacuated residents.
