The Rev. Al Sharpton defended Mayor Bill de Blasio's decision to personally call a police official, following the arrest of a political ally, during an appearance on Saturday morning.
Speaking at his National Action Network headquarters in Harlem, Sharpton noted former Republican mayor Rudy Giuliani said de Blasios phone call was no big deal.
If Rudy Giulani and Al Sharpton agree on something, then yall need to go on to the next thing, Sharpton said, directing his comments to reporters attending his weekly rally.
Sharpton suggested such a call was routine, saying, Find out how many times city officials call to inquire about legitimate community leaders and run that down and go on to the next story. I got a show every night. Some stories run for just one night. I mean, some stuffs crazy, and yall getting crazy with it now. Come on.
