Reduced Speed Limit Among Mayor's "Vision Zero" Plans

Mayor Bill de Blasio on Tuesday outlined a plan to reduce pedestrian traffic deaths in the city.

Last month, de Blasio ordered several city agencies to devise a plan similar to the "Vision Zero" program he says has reduced traffic deaths in cities around the world.

The mayor says his task force came up with 63 specific citywide changes.

"Vision Zero's strategy is clear. It combines enforcement, education and engineering to systematically confront the issues that lead to crashes," de Blasio said.
