Bronx apartment raided after man claims to have cyanide

Eyewitness News
NEW YORK (WABC) -- A dangerous discovery in the Bronx led NYPD officers to investigate an apartment believed to have deadly toxins inside.

It all started when a 22-year-old man living on Cruger Avenue in the Pelham Parkway section told police he had cyanide and didn't want it anymore.

Officers went inside the home and removed several bags containing suspicious substances, but testing will have to be conducted in order to determine what exactly the substances are.

A woman and a 1-year-old child, the suspect's wife and child, were also removed from the apartment. They were taken to St. Barnabus Hospital for precautionary measures.
