NY state, Kodak cleanup plan gets OK from feds

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — The federal government has approved a plan by New York state and Eastman Kodak to clean up the Genesee River and continue environmental work at a Rochester business park.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday that the Environmental Protection Agency has endorsed the August 2013 settlement between the state Department of Environmental Conservation and Kodak. The settlement, previously approved as part of Kodak's bankruptcy reorganization, requires the company to establish a $49 million trust for environmental cleanup of the river and the 1,200-acre Eastman Business Park.
