New York City issues snow alert for Sunday

Eyewitness News
NEW YORK (WABC) -- With a winter storm approaching, the New York City Department of Sanitation has issued a 'snow alert' for Sunday, starting at 11 a.m.

Sanitation Department personnel will begin initial equipment readiness, including loading salt spreaders, attaching plows when necessary, preparing tire chains and notifying supplementary personnel as needed.

DSNY is coordinating with the Office of Emergency Management and the Department of Transportation on snow clearing protocol in accordance with each agency's written snow plan.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the New York area until 3 p.m. Monday.

Less snow though. You should get 1 to 3 inches. hrmjustin Mar 2014 #4
That's why I called it lucky 13 for upstate. Y'all are still getting hammered. In_The_Wind Mar 2014 #5

I am in New Jersey now headed to Brooklyn tomorrow for work... just went out looking for a snow shovel to take with me... NONE to be found, at least by me today, so I will hope for the best... will leave early to get over the GWB before it starts
