... in the NYS Senate. The people voted for a DEM senate but 5 collaborators cut a deal w. the minority GOP to keep the leadership and committees in GOP hands. Jeffrey Klein ( my own State Senator) is the head collaborator. He has a better than even chance, imo, of being successfully primaried by Oliver Koppell.... popular and respected long time NYC Councilmember, NYS Assemblymember and former NYS Atty General.

Subject: Oliver Koppell --Run For State Senate Against Jeff Klein
Hi,
I signed a petition to Oliver Koppell which says:
"Since 2012, the will of the majority of voters in NYS has been thwarted. The progressive change for which New Yorkers voted has been blocked by Senator Jeff Klein and the obstructionist Republicans he empowered.
Oliver Koppell, you should run to defeat Jeff Klein and give progressive New Yorkers back the State Senate."

The wealthy former top fundraiser for the New York Senate Democrats said Wednesday that he is very interested in raising money for a possible primary challenger to Bronx state Sen. Jeffrey Klein, the Democratic co-leader of the Senate.
Bill Samuels, a liberal political activist who heads the group Effective NY, said that if Mr. Klein does not rejoin the main Senate Democratic conference soonand if Mr. Klein is challenged for his seat by former state attorney general and City Council member Oliver KoppellMr. Samuels would seek to raise substantial cash for Mr. Koppell. I would be one of the major fundraisers, said Mr. Samuels, who discussed the possibility with Mr. Koppell several weeks ago. Its not my first choice, but Klein has a choice to make. If he doesnt come back [to the Democratic conference], a lot of people are going to be interested in taking him out.
