Judy L. Randall

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A $4.9 billion transportation resiliency plan was unveiled by Gov. Andrew Cuomo Thursday, aimed at a coordinated response in the event of future Sandy-like weather emergencies and to ensure reliability of the state's transportation network and infrastructure.

It includes a request for $154 million in federal funds for flood mitigation for Staten Island Railway facilities. The project cost is estimated at $205 million.
