Rye Playland Future Uncertain After Company Picked To Reimagine Park Backs Out Of Review Process

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) — A nonprofit group that has proposed revamping the historic Rye Playland amusement park says it’s bowing out of the process at least temporarily.
Sustainable Playland Inc. said it is suspending its participation in a county review of the project, which began in 2010.
The firm’s plan to redo the park, which is owned by Westchester County, was selected by County Executive Rob Astorino in 2012.
