Gov. Cuomo nixes debate challenge from Texas Gov. Rick Perry

Looks like Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s business-poaching trip to the Big Apple will not yield a debate against Gov. Cuomo.

Cuomo expressed little enthusiasm for the proposed debate against Perry when questioned by reporters at the Capitol Wednesday.

“I don’t think so,” Cuomo said when asked whether he would accept Perry’s debate challenge. “I think I am going to let the numbers speak for the State of New York. We have start up zones that are zero tax zones - zero tax for 10 years. I believe it makes it the lease expensive place in the country to site a business. I understand if other states are jealous about what we’re doing, but that’s what it is.”

Andrew Cuomo, a/k/a the Dark Prince, has never been a real Democrat or a real Republican. He is pure Machiavellian, and all that matters to Andrew Cuomo is Andrew Cuomo. Now that the WFP is threatening to not support him, watch as he doubles back and kowtows to the Unions in an obvious effort to curry favor, destroy the WFP, and try to preserve his supposed mandate (which he won only because Paladino is crazy and the Repubs couldn't find a more viable candidate to run against him).

If you think the Senior Cuomo was any less Machiavellian and any less a thug, you are mistaken. The Senior Cuomo was just smarter and far less obvious.

7. Goodhair is trying to appear like he is not afraid to debate

Goodhair is hoping that the GOP donor class will forget about his debate performances in the 2012 race and give him another chance. Goodhair knew that Cuomo would not debate him because Cuomo would not get anything out of any such debate. Goodhar was counting on Cuomo rejecting this offer so that Goodhair could use this rejection to attempt to show the GOP donor class that he is back.

In 2010, Goodhair refused to debate Bill White. Goodhair is not a strong debater and if Cuomo had accepted the offer, Goodhair would have found a reason to back out of the debate.

BTW, I would love to see Goodhair be the GOP nominee in 2016. Goodhair has good ties to the tea party and could be acceptable to the GOP donor class if the alternative was Rand Paul or Carnival Cruz. The GOP donor class would probably try to get Romney to run again before they would back Goodhair. If Jeb does not run, there is a chance that Goodhair may be the last choice available to the tea party and the GOP donor class.

Goodhair is one of the longest serving governors in Texas history. He took office when Bush became POTUS in 2000

In 2002 he accused a Hispanic banker of being in the drug trade. In 2006, Kinky Friedman split the vote so that Goodhair won with 39% of the vote. 2010 was a GOP sweep year and all Democrats in Texas had issues. Goodhair was able to refuse to debate the Democratic candidate due to the fact that the polling showed that any republican would win that year. In addition, Bill White refused to be seen with President Obama which irked some core Democratic voters.

Please understand that Goodhair is good on the campaign trail. He can give a good speech and seldom made mistakes in Texas. Goodhair survived a sitting US Senator accusing him of being gay in the 2010 GOP primary by running a very negative campaign against that Senator. Goodhair is good at throwing mud and distracting tea party voters.

Abbott on the other hand is not a good speaker despite being a trial attorney. Abbott specialized in toxic tort defense where you rarely got to a jury and relied on motions to win cases. Abbott is making a ton of mistakes and is making Perry look like a genius.
