shop. I thought it was cool that you could get a drink, have an ice cream, buy an antique, watch a movie and visit a cheese factory all within a couple of blocks.

Here's your forecast...

https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=36.2205&lon=-81.6872

You can get an automatically updating forecast from the pinned post at the top of the group page here:

https://www.democraticunderground.com/10697503

All you have to do is click your location or the location you want a forecast for, directly on the map and it will take you there. Once there you can fine tune your forecast by entering your zip code or town name in the search bar.

I hope you find this helpful.

It’s the weird, confusing road conditions and constant parking lot dramas in Boone that I’m trying to wrap my brain around, as well. The school isn’t the greatest when it comes to communicating these issues.

Motorists traveling through North Carolina can call 511 during the day for the latest road conditions and other important information, including:
Crashes, weather-related closures and road construction
Transfers to neighboring states' 511 systems
Using 511
When calling 511 – or (877) 511-4662 from outside North Carolina – callers will hear urgent messages regarding closures for major interstates.

On weekdays from 8:15 a.m. to 7:45 p.m., weekends from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and state holidays from 9:15 a.m. until 4:45 p.m., callers speak directly with an operator who can answer traffic and travel-related questions.

Overnight and during emergencies, travelers should go to DriveNC.gov for the latest travel information.

Other 511 Systems
While in North Carolina, travelers can get travel information for other states in the region at the following websites and toll-free numbers listed ...

I’m juggling conditions in 3 areas for my crew - Chapel Hill/Raleigh, Boone, and Hendersonville.

We’re all in different spots for school and work, and the road conditions are keeping everyone hunkered in place instead of driving home to Hendo.
