Related: About this forumDo we know who's running against Rene Ellmers yet?
She's done absolutely nothing in the two years since she beat Etheridge and is having a LOT of trouble raising money to keep her seat. Seems like she should be pretty vulnerable.

(60,026 posts)Seriously, I don't know the answer to your question, but she is, as expected, useless, just like Burr - but then again Hagan hasn't been much, either.
We don't exactly have a stellar cast of pols in this state, with the exception of a very few.

(397 posts)But since he is now running for governor Im guessing thats the end of that. I actually live in Ellmers district. I hope somebody steps up. I can definitely see myself volunteering a lot of time for the right candidate. Ellmers has to go!

(397 posts)The Democratic party never responded to my email. I still don't know who if anybody is running against Ellmers.

Ellmers began reaching out in the fall, said campaign spokeswoman Jessica N. Wood. She attended party club meetings, visited businesses, took part in a Richard Petty fish fry in Asheboro and attended an event with former Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann in Moore County.
George Little of Moore County, who worked for two Republican governors, said he decided to help Ellmers after meeting her at the Bachmann event. He found her to be forthright and knowledgeable, he said.
Ellmers has three Republicans running against her in the primary. Three Democrats and a Libertarian also are seeking to win the Republican-favoring district.

There was apparently a third. But apparently he has already withdrawn.

(118,379 posts)indicates a third D candidate -- Jim Bibbs
but as you said
Second Congressional District candidate Jim Bibbs of Pittsboro said last week (3/20) that he is dropping out of the May primary. He said a family member recently suffered an illness and he needs to deal with that instead of running an election campaign ...
He declined to discuss the illness in detail. Although he is ending his campaign, Bibbs name will remain on the primary ballot. Democrats Toni Morris of Fayetteville and Steve Wilkins of Southern Pines are also running. http://blogs.fayobserver.com/peoplesbusiness/March-2012/Democrat-Jim-Bibbs-dropping-out-of-2nd-District-co
