Related: About this forumNC Film production tax incentives could be retroactively eliminated.
Reps. Rick Catlin and Chris Millis are SPONSORING legislation that would eliminate the film tax credit altogether, and make the law effective as of THIS PAST JANUARY! HB 994 would deny the agreed-to credit to productions currently in town and would deal a lethal blow to the industry in the future.
Join us at Riverfront Park, at the base of Market St., on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 12:30 PM. It is IMPERATIVE that we show the world that these rogue legislators dont speak for us, our region or our state!!
You asked us what can I do? The answer today is to attend this rally! If we DO NOT TURN OUT in HUGE NUMBERS, we will look weak and ineffective! Pass the word!! Your attendance is really NEEDED!!
EMERGENCY PLEASE READ: The following information effects the entire state of NC. Our tax incentives are under attack and could be completely taken away from us. What does that mean for you and for me... NO NEW PRODUCTIONS IN THE STATE OF NC AND THE PRODUCTIONS THAT ARE ALREADY HERE ie... HOMELAND, BANSHEE, UNDER THE DOME, REVOLUTION, EASTBOUND AND DOWN and future projects like the new Nicholas Sparks film, the new Jim Carrey film and many more would likely take their production to another state... like GA, LA, and TX.. Quit literally the state of NC would become a ghost town of film.
If you want to show your support please come out to our rally this Saturday... The entire Ncasting Company will be there Myself, Pam and Kim Stewart... Along with many other film locals... I WANT/NEED TO SEE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU THERE. IF WE DO NOT TAKE ACTION, WE WILL NO LONGER HAVE JOBS!!!!
RALLY IN WILMINGTON SATURDAY APRIL 20, at 12:30 PM!!
