Fracking Direct Action in Morganton.

http://earthfirstnews.wordpress.com/2013/07/08/breaking-hundreds-of-protesters-shut-down-oil-gas-chemical-supplier-to-protest-fracking/

http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/07/08/3016720/nc-chemical-plant-blocked-in-anti.html

And why a person might do something like this:
1) The NC water table is especially vulnerable to contamination by Fracking which is why deep well injection was explicitly banned here.
2) Gas and Oil companies don't have to disclose what they are injecting into our ground water.
3) What they have disclosed is poisonous.
4) They don't need your permission to be on your property.
5) They don't need your permission to drill on your property.
6) They won't pay for the damage their trucks do to our roads.
7) They won't hire us to work on these wells.
8) They will ship in a hoard of men from Texas, and ship them out again when the gas is gone.
9) Fracking was legalized 'by mistake' when a legislator pressed the wrong button during a midnight vote.

In short, this resistance represents a legitimate reaction to an illegitimate law sanctioning a hostile invasion. Art Pope and the party in power in Raleigh sold us out to the Oil Empire for a few campaign donations.

Didn't get into any detail with them, but I was impressed they drove 7 hours RT to protest. FRACKING. Makes sense...
