I grew up in this area. This tragedy saddens me. It would be hard for anyone to lose their entire family like this. It is wonderful that people are donating to help her out. Still, something that is stated throughout these articles, although not explicitly is that Anna and her family were poor, very poor. I am familiar with that trailer park and that is about the poorest area in town. She was single and had five children from three different men. The boyfriend did not work and may have never have held a job for long, if at all. She worked at Burger King to support her family of six and probably was on food stamps. They did not have a car. They associated with criminal people. They lived in an old, poorly made trailer that they could not escape from when it caught on fire.
Many people in town probably looked down on Anna Angel and her family before the tragedy. It's nice that so many are supporting her now. She needs it after all. For some reason, though, I can't help feel that poverty killed her family and this makes it even more tragic.
