Madras mayor not running for re-election
Madras voters will decide on a new mayor in November. Mayor Mike Lepin says he will not seek re-election this fall.
Lepin, whose two-year term ends this December, has served as mayor since 2023. He previously served on the Madras Planning Commission and City Council.
“I think part of it is you always want to be able to make sure you finish something or you fix something,” Lepin told the Madras Pioneer on Tuesday.
Lepin works at Jefferson County Fire & EMS as the EMS deputy chief and said stepping away was “a real struggle,” but said it’s the right time.
