Conor Lamb, in the new PA-17 (Keith Rothfus's district). Of course there is no requirement that candidates live in the district they represent, but people generally view candidates unfavorably if running for a district they don't live in.

(32,639 posts)The special election of March 13th will be valid even when the CD boundaries change. However I do believe that should Conor Lamb win in March, he'll definitely have an advantage when he runs for re-election to represent the 17th.
On the other hand, if Saccone should win next month, he won't have an advantage in the next election facing Mike Doyle. Let's keep our fingers crossed. My sister lives in Westmoreland county (Irwin/Norwin Hills/Manor)and I see a lot of "Conor Lamb" yard signs out in her area. I hope that's a good sign!

The new map is great for PA, but it does mean if Lamb wins he will immediately be pushed into campaigning for the midterms. Rothfus is deplorable.
