Judge jails 71-year-old man for urinating in a bush

AllInThisTogetherHat Retweeted

For God’s sake. This is utterly unacceptable.

A judge in Northampton County, which just had the first COVID-19 death in the state, set cash bail & incarcerated a 71-year-old man who was accused of peeing in a bush.
Continued reliance on cash bail for petty crimes is going to exacerbate the pandemic

HOWEVER. I have a problem with men coming down my semi-rural gravel road, stopping their vehicles, getting out and taking a leak near a lone pine tree, and then they get back in their cars and do a u-turn and head out toward the main road. They're deliberately swinging by my house to use the road as a toilet--this isn't a sudden prostate emergency. I go outside and glare at them but it doesn't deter them. Has happened at least 6 or 7 times that I've been around to notice. Absolutely disgusting.

yard and I'm super-susceptible to it. It wouldn't stop the ditch-pissing either. I really hate these people. I want to get in my car and follow them back to their houses with buckets of my piss and dump it in the street in front of their houses and see how they like it.

...my yard, especially if I am standing outside watching them in the act.

We have 3 cats. I don’t dump my cat boxes in other people’s yards.

I confess to being tempted to do so with our next door neighbors. The have a huge German shepherd, who leaves huge deposits. My husband has spoken to the owner about this many times. The guy’s solution - we should get some of those little plastic flags on wires, like the ones utility companies use to mark where their lines are, and put them in the piles of poop so he know where to come and clean up

Oh, hell no. It’s your damn dog. You come and do the looking.

a couple in my neighborhood that would walk their dogs by my house to crap at the edge of the yard. I think they thought since it was close to the road that it didn't "count". Fortunately I think they've moved before I had to confront them, OR they changed their walking route. My parents also have this trouble where they live and now watch for the dog walkers and go outside to deter them. I have my own dogs and cats and they do their business at my house, and no one else's. I also don't squat and pee wherever I feel the urge. What is wrong with some people?

you'll have other, more objectioinal waste eliminations to deal with. Good on this judge for treating this harshly.

Lenience has little place in these extraordinary times.
