Interesting PA. Senate Primary - Moderate Republican vs. Mining Baron
&feature=shareThe challenger, Brian Rich, and his family own large parts of Schuylkill County, including a number of large mining, energy, land development and industrial corporations. He is running against a relatively moderate long-term republican legislator, Dave Argall.
Argall just started running a new ad on TV describing environmental violations by Rich's businesses.

"Sen. Dave Argall today called for an immediate investigation into a recent media buy made by Waste Management and Processors, a corporation owned by his opponent Brian Rich and other members of the Rich family.
"As a citizen of the 29th Senatorial District, I am a strong believer that everyone must follow the law and that includes Brian Rich," said Argall. "Today I am calling for a full investigation into the illegal use of campaign dollars by Brian Rich and one of his corporations, Waste Management and Processors Inc. It is with blatant intent that Brian Rich illegally used corporate money to impact this election by negatively attacking me.
"Brian Rich and his company appear to be in clear violation of the Pennsylvania Election Code which expressly prohibits corporate political donations and prescribes criminal penalties and fines associated with such a violation" Argall said. The Code states in part that: Any corporation or unincorporated association, which shall pay, give or lend or agree to pay, give or lend any money belonging to such corporation or unincorporated association or in its custody or control, in violation of the provisions of the (code) shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than one thousand dollars ($1,000) nor more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000)."
