Former Pittsburgh mayoral candidate Tony Moreno accused of pointing shotgun at neighbor

[link:https://www.post-gazette.com/news/crime-courts/2022/12/13/tony-moreno-pittsburgh-mayor-candidate-north-side-humane-rescue/stories/202212130109|

FYI He was the GOP candidate.

A North Side man is charged with simple assault and harassment for allegedly threatening a man with a shotgun Monday.

Tony Moreno, a former Pittsburgh police officer and 2021 mayoral candidate, told police he thought the man was part of an animal cruelty investigation.

Several dogs were removed from a home on Mr. Moreno’s street over the weekend, though no charges have been filed against the homeowners, according to police. Humane rescue agents could not take all of the dogs at one time, police said.

When the man who owns the property went to the home Monday to take two of the dogs to the humane society, Mr. Moreno pointed the gun at him and told him, “If you try to leave, I will shoot your tires out,” according to the criminal complaint against Mr. Moreno.
