Republicans Refuse to Allow Public Colleges to be heard at Senate budget hearings

http://senatorhughes.com/democrats-question-omission-of-budget-hearings-for-psu-other-universities

Each year, the State Senate holds hearings on the budgets of Penn State, U. Pittsburgh, other state universities and community colleges. At those hearings, university representatives are given a chance to explain their finances and the need for public funding. Last year in particular, the university presidents did a good job explaining how Corbett's proposed 50% cut in state funding would cripple them.

Except this year, the Republicans in control of the State Senate are refusing to hold hearings.

If a tree crashes into a state university, and no is one is allowed to talk about it, did it really happen?

What are they afraid of? The truth?

So, now the Senate Republicans are stifling dissent. Amazing.
