Gov. Wolf endorses Katie McGinty for U.S. Senate

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf has endorsed his former chief of staff, Katie McGinty, as she seeks the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate.

In a statement released by her campaign Wednesday morning, Wolf described McGinty as "a 'can do' person who doesn't just talk about it, but one who works to get things done."

He also highlighted her role in Pennsylvania's expansion of Medicaid and in sending the Legislature a spending plan as part of the still-unfinished state budget.

McGinty was one of four candidates who ran against Wolf in the 2014 primary. McGinty then teamed up with him, leading Wolf's Fresh Start political action committee for the remainder of the campaign and then signing on as his top aide.

I was for Sestak until Fetterman announced. I plan to vote for Fetterman in the primary.

I was kind of torn, like them both or either over McGuinty. I was disappointed to see some of my favorite Democrats endorse her. I wish the Mayor and the Admiral could combine somehow.
