Poll: Likely Pennsylvania voters say Hillary Clinton won debate

Nearly six in 10 likely Pennsylvania voters say Democrat Hillary Clinton was the victor in last week's presidential debate, according to a new Quinnipiac Poll.

The Connecticut-based pollsters found 57 percent picked Clinton as the debate winner, a tally that includes 27 percent of Republicans. Another 21 percent said Republican Donald Trump won the debate, and 11 percent said it ended in a tie.

Independents tapped Clinton, 50 percent to 24 percent, and a majority of men and women also described her as edging out her opponent in their first debate appearance together.

"It's win-win in Pennsylvania for Hillary Clinton: A big 'W' for the debate, and a slightly too-close-to-be-comfortable lead in the head-to-head matchup," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.
