Top Allegheny County GOP staffer suspended after being arrested in domestic violence case
The executive director of the Allegheny County Republican Committee has been suspended as a result of his arrest this past weekend on a charge of assaulting his girlfriend.
John Schnaedter, 36, of Mount Washington, faces one count of simple assault stemming from the incident, which police said occurred Saturday outside a home on Bailey Avenue.
Pittsburgh police received a call that day from a man who said he heard a woman screaming and saw fists swinging inside a Jeep on the street and then saw a woman lying on the sidewalk.
When police arrived, they spoke to Mr. Schnaedters girlfriend, who told them the two argued over petty stuff and he pulled her out of the car and punched her, according to a criminal complaint. She told police Mr. Schnaedter left and headed in the direction of their apartment.
