Authorities say crowd after Texas A&M-Alabama game was calmer than expected
College Station police Lt. Chuck Fleeger said the vast majority of the Texas A&M-Alabama football game crowd was "well-behaved," despite it being the busiest shift of his career.
"We did have an exceptional number of people in town and more activity, but, for the most part, I think people had an exciting and safe time," said Fleeger, a two-decade-plus veteran of the department who was working patrol duty from 4 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday.

In addition to making several public intoxication arrests, university police took a 22-year-old Bryan man into custody after accusing him of stealing a golf cart that belonged to the Texas A&M University Office of the Commandant. Authorities said he drove it to Northgate, then brought it back damaged, according to police reports.
Officers said the A&M senior was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and criminal mischief between $50 and $500 since the golf cart was returned without its windshield and with a broken headlight.
