If a federal judges disappointing ruling this week on a voter registration case is allowed to stand, state lawmakers around the country could well make it harder for eligible citizens to register to vote in federal as well as state elections.
State officials in Kansas and Arizona had sued the United States Election Assistance Commission for refusing to include their strict proof-of-citizenship requirements on the federal voter registration form the commission prepares under the National Voter Registration Act, also known as the motor voter law.

(4,695 posts)service in any state, the State must update your voter registration at the same time. Your ID and picture made, is right there in front of the State clerk and therefore witnessed by the clerk and with the electronic signature. In Texas, the person must ask for re-registration.

(145,567 posts)Greg Abbott has been looking for voter fraud in Texas for a while and could not find any. Now, Abbott is seeking discovery in the voter id lawsuit where he initially asked for all e-mails and documents from each and every office or department in the executive branch and from all 535 members of Congress discussing voter id or voter fraud. The DOJ objected to this silly request and now Greg is only seeking information from the DOJ and 22 Democratic members of congress
