Brenham, Texas -- A magical new flavor in the Blue Bell Ice Cream family kicks off National Ice Cream Month. It's called Magic Cookie Bar, according to a news release from the creamery in Brenham.

The new flavor, hoping to do justice to the dessert of the same name, is described by the company as a sweet ice cream loaded with graham cracker crust pieces, chunks of dark chocolate, roasted pecan pieces and toasted coconut, all surrounded by a caramel sauce swirl.

Paul Kruse, CEO and president of Blue Bell Creameries, said the flavor is a nod to moms and children everywhere who may remember making magic cookie bars back in the day.

"Our Magic Cookie Bar Ice Cream will be a walk down memory lane for some Blue Bell fans, and a new delicious flavor for others. Either way, it is part of an American taste tradition not to be missed," he said in the release.
