Just when I was about to give up on Texas

It sure gets hot in Texas, though.

I have always believed that the first women who came here as pioneers must have arrived in bluebonnet season and truly believed that they had arrived in Heaven.


Then came August and they knew in fact that they were in Hell.

But Lady Bird certainly did more than her part to make them popular.

Every new highway gets seeded at landscaping time with mixed wildflowers and lots of bluebonnets.

the state does right. I think they are also illegal to pick, but I could be wrong
