Some notes on the elections yesterday...

As I look through the newspapers throughout the state it looks like bond elections were received very well by the voters throughout the state. The only bond elections I noticed that failed were a $350 million road improvements bond election in Montgomery County and a $297 million school bond election for McAllen ISD. Otherwise, school bond elections were successful and San Antonio even passed an amendment to allow streetcars to use city streets while Temple passed park improvement bonds.

It is encouraging to see voters wanting better schools and improved infrastructure. Hopefully this is a signal that some progressive change can come to the state.

Finally, I must ask, where did all the Teabagggers go? The no new taxes crowd failed to show at the polling stations.

It passed an amendment that will require voters approve any future streetcar/light rail projects.

The city was planning streetcars, but a bunch of people(Tea Party) got mad. Due to their protests the city pulled the plug on the project. The amendment will make sure that the Tea Party will get to vote for or more than likely against any streetcar projects.

(It's kinda confusing)

I also missed that Brazoria voted against a Christian-themed water park. However, it looked like most of the more modest school bond elections passed and a road improvement bond election in Georgetown passed which is of personal interest to me since I'm hoping to move there in the future.
