Lake Dam at Bastrop St. Park failed; Williamson County urges resident near Brushy Creek to evacuate

7:10 p.m. update: Lake Dam at Bastrop State Park has failed, Bastrop emergency officials said.

Authorities are urging anyone in the path of rushing water along Copperas Creek need to seek higher ground.

The eastern area of Tahitian Village is at risk, officials said.

6:50 p.m. update: Williamson County officials are urging people who live in or near the floodplain of Brushy Creek east of FM 685 to evacuate the area immediately.

The creek is currently 23 feet deep, which is as high as it was during the tropical storm in 2010, officials said.
