Abbott on debate: Cruz ‘just kicked Iran’s a--’

AUSTIN — Gov. Greg Abbott was as fiery as the presidential candidates as he tweeted Wednesday's debate, showing some partiality to the contender who once worked for him and praising standout Carly Fiorina.

Abbott colorfully commended U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz — Abbott’s solicitor general in the governor’s previous job as attorney general — for sticking by his vow to tear up the Iran deal if he’s elected.

“Wow,” Abbott tweeted, saying Cruz “just kicked Iran's a--. Americans need to rise up against this dangerous deal.”

When Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard head, inveighed against Planned Parenthood for videos showing discussion of the use of fetal remains, Abbott tweeted, “Carly killed it on the Character of a Country that allows abortions and baby parts harvesting.”
