Skinner charged with soliciting a prostitute in Arlington

DALLAS (AP) — A Dallas police officer has been fired after being charged with soliciting a prostitute in Arlington.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown fired 35-year-old Senior Cpl. Marqueon Skinner Wednesday. Authorities say Skinner told police he hired a prostitute on Craigslist and while in her apartment June 30, a man and woman entered and robbed Skinner at gunpoint.

Authorities say Skinner ran from the apartment naked and called police. Police say they found the officer's clothes and other belongings inside the woman's apartment.

Skinner, who has been with the department since February 2004, was arrested Aug. 19 by Arlington police. He had been on administrative leave pending the investigation.
