State Bar could discipline Williamson County DA Jana Duty

GEORGETOWN -- District Attorney Jana Duty faces possible disciplinary action as the State Bar of Texas investigates a grievance filed against her.

Ms. Duty claims the grievancewas filed by Royger Harris, a “disgruntled” former employee whom she fired, and Ryan Deck, a defense attorney in the Crispin Harmel capital murder case.

“It’s just more of the same harassment that I have been dealing with for the past year,” Ms. Duty said Thursday by email. “Just more of the same.”

Further information on the grievances against Ms. Duty was not available. The State Bar keeps information private in disciplinary hearings unless the case is heard in a district court or results in a public sanction.
