Democratic vote suppression in S.Central Texas X-Post GD-P

My wife and I had a troubling conversation with a young lady working in a store. There was no line and somehow the talk turned to the recent primary election. What she said was troubling to the extreme.

In Texas there is no party registration. When you vote in a primary you tell them what party ballot you wish and they stamp your registration card that you voted in that primary.

She showed here ID as now required by our new jim Crow poll tax. They gave her a rPuke ballot saying, "of course you are voting Republican." She is white. She said, No, I am a Democrat." All of a sudden her ID was no good and they weren't going to let her vote. She raised holy Hell and did get to vote because they were afraid of scandal.

Then she told us this happened to a neighbor at another polling place. (We can vote at any polling place regardless of our percent.)

If I had any doubt of the pervasive evil in this party it has evaporated into the ozone.

Doesn't voting in any precinct cause havoc with voter rolls that have to be checked off at the polls?

This is something fairly new to be able to vote in any poll but for several elections we could vote a several polling places.

Wow! I just noticed this on the web:

Imagine casting your vote on an everyday touch-screen tablet that prints out a paper copy of your ballot, as well as a take-home receipt you can use to verify it was counted.

Such a system could be in place at Travis County polls as early as 2017.

Sounds as though Texas is moving forward...excellent.

I was fine until I told them I was a Democrat then they started scrutinizing my license to find any mistakes.

My license doesn't have my middle initial, so they allowed me but said that had to put a mark next to my name to allow it to be challenged.

I have a very unique name and I know beyond a fact that I'm the only one in the entire united states that has it.

I truly hate these fuckers.

This is the first time that they did not stamp my registration card though.

the republicans have their election and the democrats have their election. It is not combined.

I served as the election judge for my precinct since I am the precinct chair.

I thought all the primary elections in Texas were divided by party affiliation.

Everyone goes through the same line to verify registration and are shown the abdominal paperless machines associated with their party of choice.

In Tarrant if you vote early I don't believe there are separate lines. However, on the General Primary Election there are the two separate polls.

My regular polling place is rural so I really don't know how they do it in Bryan or College Station. This year is the 1st time I voted with a mail in ballot. BTW they closed down our regular polling place, moving it 10 more miles away.

On election day we have the option of using a paper ballot. Early voting you don't have a choice and have to vote electronically, which isn't an option for me!

An issue that I recently became aware of is this: if there isn't any election judges and clerks available to work the polls, that polling location will not be in operation. It will be closed and a notice of where they will have to go to vote.

The republicans have really created a monster by dictating how much money is to be paid to the elections workers. For the primary we received a whopping $8.00 an hour, with no compensation for the mandatory training. I believe this is their way of discouraging democrats to participate in the election process.
