During a speaking event featuring white nationalist Richard Spencer on the
Texas A&M University campus Tuesday evening, the Anti-Defamation League's Center on Extremism recognized multiple attendees with ties to the white nationalist movement.
Officials with the organization said six individuals -- including event organizer Preston Wiginton -- in the crowd of more than 400 were identified as known affiliates to white supremacist or Neo-Nazi groups.
The appearance of so many white supremacists at Richard Spencers talk on Tuesday shows how Spencers message is a dangerous and hateful one that resonates with extremists and helps them justify their belief in racism, anti-Semitism, and xenophobia, said Dena Marks, ADL Southwest Associate Director. We will continue to work with law enforcement to identify and call out these individuals whenever and wherever they appear.

While there were numerous supporters of Spencer's message in attendance at the event, the broad majority of attendees were there as protesters.
