Kanye is 'a clown' and 'human car wreck,' Dallas Democrat says after West's pro-Trump tweets
AUSTIN — In between tweets about Confederate memorials and ballot fraud, one Dallas Democrat has weighed in on another hot-button political issue — Kanye West's burgeoning bromance with President Donald Trump.
Last week, West tweeted a photo of a Trump-autographed "Make America Great Again" hat. "My MAGA hat is signed," West tweeted with 30 fire emojis.
The tweet and several others defending the president have elicited a fierce backlash from fans and praise from many conservatives. The Republican Party retweeted West, urging people to "get your own [MAGA hat] here."
That's when Rep. Eric Johnson felt compelled to respond.
"I can't believe y'all let @kanyewest trick you into actually talking about him. He's a human car wreck; just keep driving," Johnson tweeted on April 26.
