Hawkins woman sentenced to 6 years in federal prison for money laundering and wire fraud
A Hawkins woman was sentenced Thursday to 80 months in federal prison for money laundering and wire fraud, according to a news release from the court.
Lina Su, 49, also known as Lina Perkins, pleaded guilty June 7 to two counts of wire fraud and one count of money laundering and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Thad Heartfield, according to the court.
The news release said Su was also ordered to pay more than $1.8 million in restitution.
Su, a naturalized citizen from Taiwan, was a financial controller splitting time between living in Hawkins and Los Angeles, according to the court.
