Arrest made in Texas A&M bomb threat
A former Bryan High School athlete was charged Monday in connection with the bomb threat made at Texas A&M earlier this month.
Dereon Jayronne Kelly, 22, has been jailed since the day the incident was called in Oct. 19 after authorities tagged him as a suspect in the case, however, he wasn't charged until today.
The 2009 Bryan High grad who played defensive back for the Vikings had warrants out for his arrest from Dallas County for several crimes, including fraud. Calls to authorities in Dallas were not immediately returned.
A&M police officers, working with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies, served the warrant that accuses him of making a terrorist threat, which is a third-degree felony. The crime is punishable by up to a decade in prison and a fine of $10,000.
