Texas native and actress Eva Longoria reacted to Joe Biden's election win in an MSNBC interview Sunday night that started with compliments for San Antonio's Latino voter turnout but ended in controversy.
Longoria, a well-known Democratic supporter who worked with Biden on his campaign, spoke with MSNBCs Ari Melber. Her post-election reaction included "relief" and pride for the Latino voter turnout in major Texas cities, including San Antonio. But comments Longoria made later in the interview have caused backlash.
"The women of color showed up in big ways. Of course, you saw in Georgia what black women have done, but Latina women were the real heroines here beating men in turnout in every state," she said.
Soon after the interview was aired, onlookers reacted online saying they felt Longoria was taking credit from Black women.
She issued an apology on her social media platforms late Sunday.

And while we're at it, our native American brothers & sisters deserve a huge round of applause also.
