Travis County Democratic Party headquarters vandalized, officials say
Vandals damaged the exterior walls and doors of Travis County Democratic Party headquarters in East Austin, the organization said in a Tuesday news release.
Images shared by local party officials on Tuesday showed broken windows on the front door of the partys headquarters. They also showed graffiti written in red on the outside walls of the building, located at the intersection of East Sixth and Navasota streets.
The property damage occurred sometime Monday evening, Travis County Democratic Party officials said in a written statement, adding that no staff or volunteers were at the building during the incident.
No items were stolen from the building, and there was no interior damage, officials said.
One of the messages written on their walls read, The working class can have only 1 party. Another sign said, Reconstitute the Communist Party.
