A North Texas congressional candidate went on a tirade against China and potential Chinese immigrants on Wednesday.
Sery Kim, vying for the late Ron Wright's seat in Congress, made several disdainful remarks toward China and Chinese immigrants during a Republican congressional candidate forum in Arlington, the Dallas Morning News' Gromer Jeffers Jr. reports.
I dont want [Chinese immigrants] here at all, Kim said. They steal our intellectual property, they give us coronavirus, they dont hold themselves accountable.
And quite frankly, I can say that because Im Korean, Kim said.

(33,643 posts)'China' is not 'immigrants from China'.
In fact, you might even logically say they're kinda the opposite.
China, the country, and more specifically, the Government thereof ... is worthy of reprobation on a good number of issues.
They're seriously pissing me off WRT Hong Kong, a place I lived in my youth, I can tell you that.
But this woman is WAY out of line bashing all immigrants from China with this bullshit.
And a liar to boot.

(205,267 posts)My best friend in middle school had a Mom who came from Japan. My roommate and close friend at boarding school had a Dad who came from China. And one of the girls I lived with in college had an Asian Dad, not sure from where, never thought to ask, I only met her Mom. I never thought about it, they were just kindred spirits who became good friends of mine. My own grandmother came from Poland, I figured that everyone came from somewhere.

(205,267 posts)Seems awfully off topic to me, but that's what Republicans seem to do these days, they're not happy unless they're bashing someone.
