Suspect in two DWI deaths arrested again after hitting Denton bars

A 23-year-old man who is accused of killing two people while driving intoxicated was arrested again Friday after a judge deemed his bail amount was insufficient, a Denton police sergeant said.

William Robert Blair, who allegedly drove while intoxicated and killed two people on Interstate 35E on April 25, was arrested on Friday and is now being held at the Denton County Jail in lieu of $775,000 bail.

Sgt. Daryn Briggs of the Denton Police Department said Fry Street bar staffers recognized Blair as he was inside their business Thursday. He said they then alerted Denton police officers who were nearby.

“They already took him out of the bar, but they followed up and let us know he was there,” Briggs said. “We kept an eye on him as best as we could … and saw him walking around in the area. We went back and were able to get video surveillance of him in the bar, consuming alcohol, which was a direct violation of his bond condition.”

1. Why did you post this DWI arrest?

Thousands of people die from drunk driving every year which is horrible and disgusting, but I rarely ever see anything posted here or on any national platform. Why did you post "this" DWI arrest with a "huge" picture of a black man?

link and I don't consider the picture at the link to be "huge." I would have posted this story regarding of the race of the person who was arrested.

Number Two: I posted this story because it highlights the irresponsibility of someone who already is accused of manslaughter going around and getting intoxicated again. The people at the bars that identified him obviously do care about other members of their community which is why they turned him into police.

Number Three: Because what I expressed above, this is a story of public interest and I know that there are fellow DU members in the Denton area that are interested.

Number Four: There are not any rules that prohibit me from posting it and your question about "why" I did something that crosses over into forum moderation. I don't question anybody about "why" they post an article so I would hope that the same respect is shown to me.
