Get ready America, my Congresscritter is Chair of the House Homeland Security Committee
U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, who represents the 10th Congressional District stretching from his hometown of Austin to the Houston suburbs, is the new chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, which means that he now holds one of the most visible jobs in Congress (replacing Rep. Peter King).

Its probably the most high-profile committee in the Congress, so when you say, I just got elected the chairman of Homeland Security, people understand what that means, McCaul said in a recent interview.
Some of that has to do with Rep. Kings Richter-scale personality. He is the Sam Kinison of the C-SPAN set. His most recent memorable performance was his very public outrage when House Speaker John Boehner failed to call a vote on Hurricane Sandy relief after the House approved legislation to avert the fiscal cliff.
