Ex-hand surgeon Michael Brown has booked into Harris County Jail for allegedly not paying child support.
Bond has been set for $500,000. We're not sure yet if this is for an alleged non-payment for his kids from ex-wife Darlina (in Colorado) or his children in Houston. It's been a tough new year for Brown, what with federal charges of choking flight attendants, and a financial empire in peril. But, hey, at least the dude still has two yachts and a ton of swanky Miami real estate. So at least there's that. We'll have more as it comes in...

(30,058 posts)Further and further. The hand procedure is his but he is not allowed to practice, it would be a good time for him to reach out for help for himself. No matter what he is responsible for providing for his children.

I've certainly had enough experience watching people in my own family go down those particular tubes.

(4,026 posts)I interacted with him indirectly; i.e. on the phone, years ago while working nights at an answering service during the time that I was doing post-graduate work in microbiology. As ugly as he was on the telephone, he is apparently much scarier and much worse in person if his more recent and much published exploits are any indication. He is a uniquely dangerous man who should be locked up for a very long time so as to keep society safe from his particular brand of violent lunacy.

(112,167 posts)Former surgeon Michael Brown, who was jailed this week for contempt after missing a divorce proceeding last month, will be back in family court Wednesday as a hearing to split up community assets continues.
Brown spent Tuesday on the witness stand in an orange jail uniform answering questions in state District Judge Sheri Dean's court.
Dean issued a warrant for Brown's arrest after he failed to appear for divorce proceedings he had scheduled. Brown is divorcing Rachel Brown, his fourth wife.
On the stand Tuesday, Brown was questioned about his spending, including buying a $300,000 Ferrari in January 2012.
