'It was an apocalyptic scene,' witness says as blaze levels apartment building near Danville

CHARLES WILBORN Danville Register & Bee 5 hrs ago

Asmall mound of blackened debris was all that remained about 12 hours after a raging inferno — described by one witness as an "apocalyptic scene" — leveled a building early Sunday morning at Northpointe Apartments, an area just outside of the Danville city limits.

It was shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday when Blairs Fire & Rescue got the call of the blaze.

When crews arrived, they found the entire building engulfed in flames.
